US LBM seeks a talented Supply Chain Intern to join our 2024 Intern Program. The Intern will partner with the Supply Chain Team to support both Supply Chain and Operations. This hybrid internship will be based at our Zeeland-Standard in Grand Rapids, MI. The primary responsibilities of the Intern include: 

  • Perform material spend analysis within a category and/or region to help identify savings opportunities.

  • Assist in the execution of RFP/RFQ based sourcing events.

  • Perform a detailed review of RFP/RFQ post-award to ensure compliance and validate COGS reduction.

  • Analyze category product mix for strategic alignment opportunities.

  • Maintain existing & assist in creating new purchase reports to aid the buying team.

  • Review surplus and obsolete reports to aid in the identification of inventory reduction opportunities.

  • Work with the Supply Chain Team to identify and modify late purchase orders as needed.

  • Collaborate with Operations to support one-off requests. 

  • Support & participate in Demand Planning sessions with each Division.

Education and Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate in an undergraduate degree program 

  • Excellent communication & organization skills 

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • High attention to detail 

  • Self-motivated 

  • Time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks  



  • Up to 40 hours per week 

  • May 29 through August 16 


  • Undergrad: $18 – $24

  • Graduate / MBA: $24 – $30
