A Brief Overview
A Tool Technician has a high level of expertise and ability to diagnose and repair a variety of power tools and equipment.
What you will do
- Diagnose and make repairs on pneumatic tools such as power nailers & staplers.
- Disassemble tools and use testing devices to identify problems.
- Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
- Use technical manuals to determine required replacement parts and assemble tools based on manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Track time and materials as required for each repair job.
- Prepare paperwork and keep stock of repair parts.
- Operate all equipment in safe and responsible manner.
- Train entry-level technicians on proper techniques and methods.
- Receive threaded mechanical fasteners ensuring correct item, price and quantity shipped.
- Deliver products to customers.
- Manage inventory stock for customers which includes recording inventory needed for replenishment, reporting to buyer items needed for order, deliver stock and restocking product as per customer request.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Provide quality customer service.
- Attend all training to learn new technology.
- Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.
- Comply with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience repairing power tools required.
- Combination of power tool repair training from a vocational school required.
Skills and Abilities
- Good mechanical skills and understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Must be computer literate, organized and accurate
- Occasional heavy lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must have knowledge of threaded mechanical fasteners
- Ability to work overtime as needed
